Hi all,
I've just started on a new section of my directory for local website designers and will be optimising it for
"website designers in *county*)" where *county* is a different one each time
i.e. "Website Designers in Worcestershire"
Quick question though, what do people think is the most commonly used; website designers, web site designers, web designers, other suggestion?
TIA.

Best not to speeculate in these matters. There are tools out there that will actually tell you which of those terms are more commonly searched for.
The only one that springs to mind at the moment is www.wordtracker.com - I'm sure others will be able to list loads more.

Hi there
Wordtracker offer a free trial which is a bit limited in my mind but subscribing is worthwhile. If it's a simple mater of you having a close idea of the phrases you are thinking of targeting (sound like you do) then just subscribe for a day, run the checks and job done. It's expensive if you have a need to keep coming back in and subscribe repeatedly so make sure of your requirements.
Here's a free one which can be useful

Why do Overture and Wordtracker return so wildly different results? I did a search for "team building", my favourite term, and I got:
Wordtracker
team building 1,321.0 /day
Overture
team building 330.8 /day
Quite a significant difference.

Just to add a spanner to the works I always used "developer" rather than designer as I did predominately serverside ASP work rather than front end "design"
