Hi,

Hope you can help - we have had a new employee start today and he has presented us with a Job Seekers P45 (form P45U).

Should I treat this as a normal P45 - the earnings to date and tax to date being for the cumulative year to date?

Thanks
Kelly

Basically yes. Income from job seekers now counts towards the personal allowance of untaxed pay.

yes,

It is standard when you stop your benefits you will receive a P45. Treat it as you would normally treat a P45.

Right so the taxable benefit of say 350 in part 8 is effectively the income he has receieved via job seekers allowance
