Hope I have posted in the right section...

Would anyone know how I create my own logo? Do I need specific software as I would like to place it on my website.

Thanks!

If your unfamiliar with standard graphics packages, you could get a logo design software. Try this..

http://www.summitsoftcorp.com/

It has some good "businessy" templates you can adapt.

You could get Logo Creator from http://www.thelogocreator.com/ - they do have a free version but I found it quite limited.

To be honest though, having designed my own then had a professional do one for me, I wish I'd gone for the professional from the start. It is not as expensive as you might think - I used Creacom (http://www.ukbusinessforums.co.uk/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=2497), who is a member of this forum and I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Firstly I would suggest sketching out a few ideas of your own. Of what you think you want as a logo.

Probably a bit of research wouldn't go amiss.

Next stage would be to either buy a vector graphics package such as Illustrator or Corel Draw. These are expensive..

Or you could employ a professional, which there are many who would create a logo for you. The range of prices vary along with the quality.

Plus you should make sure that they are actually professionals who can provide you with the appropriate files for print and the web.

I wouldn't recommend templates, as you never know how many other companies have used it before.

You should try to be original.

I hope this helps.:)

I agree with the above. The major problem with all these "magic" logo creator sites is that very few of them are unique to the purchaser. The vast majority are templates, are resold again to other businesses and you NEVER hold copyright on them...
