Hi mike,

just taken a look at your site. i am already quite familiar with Switchboard Free and actually use some of their numbers now (the chap from Liquid 11 is a member of this forum)

3 things i would recommend are

1 - ask them about putting your own branding in place of the current logo.

2 - Change the contact number in your control panel so it is your number that appears at the top of the site not theirs

3 - arrange with UK2.NET about removing the advertising thing at the top. it kills your credibility

hope this helps and if i can help in any other ways then by all means let me know

:D

Hi

Thanks for the feedback, all three points are being addressed. I may be back for further advise regarding the operation of call answer services at some point.

Thanks again...

I had a quick look at it and it confused me.

I wasn't sure which parts of the screen were your message and which were ads for other people.

I'd make this more obvious (if possible ditch the ads altogether).

I'd also recommend changing your copy so that the reasons why the service is free is more prominent (it's currently in the FAQ).

Many people are wary about things for free and they prefer to know why this is a win-win deal.

It's an interesting service you offer and, with the right presentation, you should get a lot of people interested in this.

I closed down the web page as soon as I heard the animated voice. If you want to use an animated voice it should be a clickable option.

Thats a good point!

I'll have a look at making it a clickable option

Thank you...

I closed down the web page as soon as I heard the animated voice.

Oh yeah, I forgot to comment on that.

(actually I had my speakers off when I looked at your site, so I didn't hear it, only saw the cartoon)

I've yet to meet someone who likes those.

The pop-up that appears made me instantly close the page to begin with. I turn off pop-up blockers because of some annoying software I use that requires it. I would definitely get rid of the UK2.net advertisement, not only because it's unprofessional, but it completely diverts your attention away from your actual website, and makes the pages feel longer.

You're also using frames, which are never a good idea.

Yeah we're trying to get those UK2 banners sorted but they're dragging there feet a little over it!

I had a client on UK2 and it was just a complete nightmare. You might want to speak to another host about moving.

You've got an easy to navigate website (when I attempt to ignore the UK2 advert), but it doesn't really say "we're professional" to me or give me much confidence in the company behind it. And, yes, I work in the industry, but I'm a developer, not a designer, so don't have this 6th sense for design.

Yeah this is the first time ive been with UK2 and it's already proving difficult to get just the simplest things done......
