Hi there:
We've just set up a lingerie site, hopefully can get some comments from you guys. Please visit www.dare2touch.com. :)
So far, we've been getting / swapping links with online directories and shops, as well as advertising on Ebay. We thought offline marketing was as important, so we've got some flyers printed, and planning to give out in the city centres. Any other ideas for marketing, please feel free to contact us. Thank you in advance. :D

Site looks great, although have to be honest, pretty pricey!

I agree Toni!
Plus some of it is what I call blokey underwear. It's the sort of stuff men buy you, thinking you'll like it, then it gets stuck in a draw for the next ten years:lol:
It should do well, especially with the men. Good luck with it.

Yes, not exactly your every day wear, unless of course your name is Pete Burns ;)

Just has a quick look. Looks fine in Safari for Mac which is good news.
On the homepage I would try and do something with those lipstick lips at the bottom. Why not use the as buttons somewhere ?
Not sure about the allignment of the left navigation menu running vertically down ( under Lingerie) when you are in the site. Would probably be better alligned to the left rather than to the right - but maybe thats just me !
Best of luck with it.

Naah, it's the sort of stuff men buy you, thinking you'll still fit in it! ;)
(Not you personally of course. )

Yes and they always buy you a size larger than you actually are!
Jayne

Mark that is true, they buy smaller because they have no idea what size there wife is, just shows how much notice you blokes take of your other half.

My husband (before he was my husband and before I had children I might add) bought me a size 16...I was only a size 10 :(
This is the type of site a man would love and has the woman reaching for the headache pills!

Thank you all for your comments. Hmmm... quite negative comments on the products, but we like honest comments, which will enable us to progress, thank you very much.
Can you ladies advise what type of lingerie you normally go for, cause I love the lingerie we've put on the site, and I've got some for myself already. We want to cater to a larger audience.

Fancy stuff is great for a night out, but I couldn't wear them all the time. I like to feel comfortable when i'm at home or working and would wear plain ones with defiantly no lace or anything on, as that is itchy. I would go for PVC either, bet it makes you sweat like a pig and they makes you look cheap too.
Check out Marks and Spencers and Gossard ranges, the plain ones, bet many women on here agree with plain and comfortable, oh and not bright colours either, you can see them under white tops.
Do you want any more honest stuff

Thanks Jayne, that makes sense. We are aiming for the fun market, however, we may try to mix some comfortable range with these fun stuff. There are loads of shops selling comfortable lingerie, and maybe it will be too competitive if we have nothing else to offer. Then, ladies will have choices whether they want to buy lingerie for daily wear or for a sexy night out / night in.

You don't want to open that can of worms. I, for one, would prefer not to know.
One thing about the site I didn't like was this:
"Dare2Touch.com is an online outlet that offers a wide range of the most exclusive and sexiest lingerie available.
We pride ourselves on selecting the best quality lingerie from our worldwide suppliers to help spice up your life, and are constantly looking for the latest product ranges."
Which I felt was a bit too much about "us" (the business), rather than "you" (the client).

Hi
I thought the products were great. As long as the quality reflects the price then I don't see a problem with what you are charging, I wouldn't say Ann Summers was exactly cheap but when you wear their underwear you can tell the difference between them and Ethel Austin.
I thought some of the stuff was really original. Regarding the site, I don't like the lips on the banner. At first glance I couldn't make my mind up what it was, rest of it is great.
Good luck
Nic

Have to say that now that Nic has pointed out a really good point. The rest of the banner style is ok but the lips dont blend in with it at all.
I would go more for a continuation of what you have designed on the right of the banner instead.

Hi Dare2Touch,
I think the website is brill, one of the nicest I've seen for these types of products.
I find some of the outfits on your site very lovely, but I tend to go for lingerie that is simple but sexy, just a little less racy.
With trying to reach a wider audience with more everyday, comfortable items, be careful not to water down your image (the name 'Dare2Touch' implies sexy, racy, seductive, X-rated, mieeeeeeoooooow!)
I've got a couple of ideas for getting around that. Sending you a PM...
Michelle.

...actually, about the banner, I'm OK with the lips, matches the theme throughout.
I'm just not keen on the lady's butt.
Maybe it just comes down to personal opinion.
Michelle.

At first I thought the lips were a flower of some sort, just define them a little. I agree with essence, the ladies butt seemed a bit cliche.

Hi great site - where did you get the images from? Did you hire models and a photographer or did the images come from the company you bought the goods from?

I agree with Steve's point about the "us" and "you" aspect.
I've only had a quick look, and mainly focussed on the copy (ok, ok, call me obsessive...)
On your landing page you've got:
"..Every care has been taken to ensure that your shopping experience is both fun and convenient, and most importantly, we offer a fully discreet professional service from ordering to delivery."
That's a bit chunky I'd say. The best plan for writing copy - and, to be honest, anything - is to stick to one idea per sentence, or to at least split into pseudo-sentences using dashes or (if you want to look really poncey) semicolons. You've also got a nasty passive construction in "every care has been taken". That's one place where a "we" really would be useful. I'd rewrite that para and the one above it something like this:
"On the site you'll find the best quality lingerie from suppliers worldwide. We're constantly expanding our product range to help you spice up your life!
We're proud of out discreet, professional service which makes your shopping experience convenient and fun from order to delivery."
I've done that in about five minutes without much thought, but I think it's an improvement.

Thank you for your comments and write up. We will have to rewrite the homepage introduction as we have a few people commenting on the same thing. I'm surprised how helpful this forum is! :D

The product pictures are rather small this could have a negative effect on visitors as they won't want to enlarge lots of images to get more detail of eachproduc, have a look at Figleaves.com, i think they have the balance right.
Good looking site tho

Looks ok, definitely the sort of stuff you buy to cheer up the old man rather than stuff women really wear all the time!
The only thing I didn't like is that there are no fabric details. I'd be worried about it being scratchy old nylon stuff?
