Does anyone know if there are any legal requirements as far as the wording of packaging on a non-perishable item? Is there any information you are legally required to put on a product?

Thank you.

Only if your sending it abroad, then you need to fill in a customs form.

In the old days if it was sharp you should mention it on a package, but now it probably wouldn't get past customs.

I assume this is not shipping, but retail packaging?

I don't know the legal side, but I repackaged something recently which was originally in Spanish. So I had a good think about this already.

Just think about if the product could be dangerous in anyway and warn people of it.

i.e. if it contains a blade then "Children should be supervised" or "not suitable for children under 16". That sort of thing. You want to cover yourself if someone does something stupid like swallowing your item. :)

I think this should be inn the "Legal" section :)

Thanks Robert, yes it is the retail packaging I was talking about. Apologies for posting in the wrong forum! I'm new and still finding my way around!

No problem, it was a little hint to any moderators reading that it might be better moved. There are some legal people who read this forum.
