Hi, just thought I'd intoduce myself to the North East people.

I'm a Team Leader with Usborne books- basically, me and my team sell children's books directly to customers at fairs, fetes, home parties, through catalogues and online. I'm currently moving into working with local companies, supplying them with catalogues or holding small stalls in the canteen so the staff can order books, and then helping them choose a local school or nursery to donate free books to. The free books can be up to 60% of the total order value and cost the company nothing, but get them really good PR, as well as the staff getting high quality books from a very wide range of award winning books with free delivery and personal service.

(If anyone would like to suggest a company that would be good to approach with this service, that would be great)

I'm looking to network with other local business people, so would love to hear of any events coming up.

Hi
Good luck with that - sounds a great idea. I did Usborne books a few years ago when my daughter was a baby - the books are lovely.
Can't help with company info I'm afraid but would have thought your best bet would be targeting the big call centre type businesses - around Doxford Park area in Sunderland?
I am setting up a business selling wooden toys and gifts and looking to sell at events in the lead up to Christmas so may see you around!
