I'd just like to announce a new addition to our website. Free classified ads for Lincoln and Lincolnshire, an ideal local alternative to Gumtree or Craigslist.

Any thoughts on the best ways to advertise and promote the site would be greatly appreciated too. We hope the site will be used to promote events, charities and volunteering opportunites too.

i think we have to post 15 times before we are allowed to add links into posts, bit annoying but i guess it stops spammers.
will go have a look - to be honest if i had used my brain i could have worked it out :-)

looks like it has a lot of potential.
would suggest you announce on the 'all lincolnshire ppl together' group on Facebook - they have got over 16 thousand ppl in that group and a lot of them use the sell, swap, beg type sites ( there is also one of those for most of the different towns in peterborough) - also some of the side kick groups that have sprouted from freecycle will let you announce things like that through them - the freecycle cafe group springs to mind - sure once you get word of it out, t will spread, expecially in the current climate.
what are your business advertising rates and what are your monthly hits at the moment?
