Yo guys,
Ok need some help! I work full time for a private company during the day and am paid through PAYE total earnings around 20k per year however i also run a part time 'lifestyle' business.
I registered as self employed, i know i need to complete SA103S as my turnover isn't high enough to complete SA103F.
But am i required to complete SA102? or is this for people employed by companies that aren't paid through PAYE? and have to declare earnings from job to pay tax
ta,
Andrew @ PLA

Yo Muffiee
If you complete your Self Assessment on the HMRC website you don't need to worry about this form or that form as it takes you straight to the sections you require based on the answers you give ... who completes their SA on paper forms these days? Get with the programme ;)

Ok thanks, wonder why they need my employment info as they should already have it with me being paid through PAYE?

If your finances fit the criteria you might be able to do the SA200 instead.

so they calculate it on total income and tax already paid - that is just how it works.
In fact of everyone filled in an SA then there would not the 6 million cases of incorrect tax calculations!

Or ... they could just design the p45/46 to have the necessary info to stop payroll departments assuming you have earned exactly the same amount each week of the year thus far....
I don't think I've ever seen one with an option for ... this 2nd my second job!
