:) Hi All,
We launched our website three weeks ago today. And barring a phew issues with malicious e-mailers using our send to a friend links it has, I think, been a unqualified success. We've already had 9181 unique visitors and reached an Alexa ranking of 461,000. We peaked one day last week at 24,995, shame about that three month average. We have spent NO money on advertising and have relied on word off mouth. Is this a particularly good start? Does anyone else have any ideas if this is a above average? What sort of traffic can we expect by purely word of mouth?
Our membership has also grown on average by 57% more than we expected and now has an estimated spending power of almost £7 million.
We really want to keep the snowball effect going, has anyone got any ideas, how we can do this, or are there any low or zero cost advertising option we could employ. Were not against paying for services, it just fits in with the internet ethos of the project to use the internet to drive marketing.
Secondly are there any retailers out there interested in joining the scheme as retailers. We are discussing with large national suppliers for the likes of DVD's, CD's, Car Insurance, Mobile Phones, but in the interest of using the internet to support smaller companies are there any niche suppliers who are interested in joining. Fro example we have had a CD repairer interested in joining, they are likely to offer a discount back of about 50p per disk, it helps them by massively increasing turnover and helps us by padding out our offers to our customers.
All are welcome, although we are only going to advertise one supplier per area, so, if you miss your area, sorry.
Thanks for reading and any advice you can give will be most appreciated.
Regards
Greg
