Hi there,
Has anyone got any experience in dealing with Scottish Enterprise? We're going for an innovation grant as we've got a software product we want to launch commercially.
Just wondering if anyone has been through this process or has had other experiences with Scot Ent?

53 views and no replies... ;-) I guess that's a "no"..
I'll let you all know how we get on.

I've used the business gateway. It's free so can't complain.
Going for a grant? I didn't think there were such things nowadays!

Yup. It's an innovation grant. We're developing some new web development software that's hopefully going to let us employ a whole raft of people - god knows Scotland's software development industry could do with it! I'll post my experiences once we're in the process.
Here's the link if anyone else is interested.

slow, slow, stop, stop, slow.
- 6months & many meetings later, "we love your product, but unfortunately we haven't got any money right now. But perhaps Business Gateway can help you?"
I would pursue alternative strategies simultaneously.

SandieP - sorry you had such an experience.
But SMART is different - funded direct from Scottish Government - doesn't run out of resources (to date!) and turnaround time is 10-12 weeks to get funding...usually only need 1 meeting and we come to you! We work pan-Scotland too, not just lowlands.

Hi Wendy, left you a message on your answer-phone. We've actually got someone helping us but could probably do with some pointers. We've got a great product that needs some R&D but has huge potential - probably the biggest market place I've worked in. So we're really hoping someone can help us. Hopefully speak to you soon.
Cheers,

Just discovered that there's a whole host of grants available for Scottish Businesses. Check them out here. One might fit your plans.
