Nebosh and fire risk are two different courses, and it depends on who is running the course.

The NEBOSH Cert in fire safety & risk management is a stand alone course, once you have completed it, you will be able to do your own fire risk assesments.

Please note.

You do not require to have a certificate in fire safety and fire management to conduct a fire risk assessment of your workplace. It is advisable to have some guidance (training, literature etc) but is not mandatory.

For some good advice see this Government website, Employers Guide http://www.archive.official-documents.co.uk/document/fire/index.htm

I am not trying to stop people from booking a fire safety course through this thread, I just felt that the statement " you'll be able to do your own fire risk assessments" was misleading. :?

I would always recommend the responsible person (employer at present) seeks advice and guidance before conducting any risk assessment.
