We have currently updated our website and have been reading lots about sitemaps, etc. So have read all the blurb on Google and tried to get the sitemap sorted out....No problem until it comes to validate and also a robots.txt file.....
I think the problem is with the fact that I use our free webspace on Wanadoo.fr....consequently our web address is
http://perso.wanadoo.fr/ineedaholiday/index.htm
Our domain name is just a redirection to our webspace.
So when it comes to the validation - initially it came up with a 404 error, so that has now been configured correctly on the wanadoo server. I then try and do the robots.txt file but it says that I can't do that and then it shows the web address as
http://perso.wanadoo.fr/
I'm sorry that this is all so muddled, but if I am honest I really don't understand all this, but I am sure that there is something or someone that can explain all this is "plain" english!
Alternatively maybe I am just going mad, that certainly wouldn't surprise me!! :oops:
