Does anyone here fit the above description or can you recommend anyone?

A client of mine has two linux servers housed at a datacentre in Manchester. For reaosns I wont go into, remote access isn't possible. So we need some on-site skills to migrate mySQL from one box on to the other.

Anyone?

SW sorry.

you could always put a hub in yourself and then connect that to an external machine to allow admin through it, easier to get an on siter.

If you get stuck, let me know, can always have a day out ;-)

Datacenters usually provide remote hands assistance too. Could always ship out a working disk and get them to hook it up

It's because of the a**holes at the datacentre that we can't get remote access and are prepping the servers to be moved to my rack in London : )

The servers put through close to a contstant 8mbps so it's probably a nice little earner that the hosts don't want to lose.

OK, I'm your man. I'm a linux techy in Manchester, and I look after a lot of kit in telecity. Never been to IFL though. PM or call me and we can sort something out.

Kind Regards,

James

Thanks all.

This seems to be sorted now. The client is what is technically known as "a messer"
