I've always found mashable.com to be particularly good. We will also be starting some social media courses in south Wales too shortly. But definately look up mashable for some great guides and the latest new apps.

Social media is all about listening, learning and sharing. Don't go for the interruption approach. Start by thinking about what you can give not what you could take and you won't go far wrong.

There are very few people who have a detailed understanding of it but many who will happily spout forth so tread carefully ;)

Agreed, your audience will only respect your Twitter presence if you demonstrate that your ultimate goal is to serve their needs (and not your own).

Its recommended to follow the 80/ 20 rule - 80% being conversational and 20% about company information and news.
