Hi All,
Does anyone think that this is Spam?
http://www.ukbusinessforums.co.uk/ftopic10922.php
I have been banned from another forum for placing exactly the same on their forum. It's not a very good forum anyway so I'm not that bothered, but I've basically been banned from letting people know of a FREE Business Event!!

I suppose it was against the forum rules - was it in their events forum like it is on UKBF?

Technically I suppose its advertising but I mean its free so you're not going to benefit financially from it. But it probably is against most forum rules.
I guess its you that posted this on Shell LIvewire aswell then?

I'm not worried - i've never really benefited from that forum anyway!

I did post on Shell, but as far as I know, it hasn't been taken off and I haven't been banned- The forum in question was Aardvark actually

Deleting the post is one thing, but banning you is a bit extreme!

Aardvark have a very strict posting policy - so I ask them before I post anything I am not sure about.
Needless to say, I only visit there once in a while, when I remember.
Not like here, where I seem to use it like an office notice board!

I was banned from Ardvark for advertising my free event as well. When I argued that the event was free and I got nothing out of it they were not happy. My posts got quite rude in the end, so it's not surprising I got kicked off.
It's a rubbish site anyway, i wouldn't worry.

You did seem to get a bit heated there Claire :) Your fuse seems almost as short as my wifes ;)
I do try to be a bit more flexible here, but by doing that it does get harder to moderate.

Maybe so Richard, but look how good UKBF is compared to others - you're doing something right!

At the early stages I used to get banned for simply asking people if they would like to write a story for my magazine. I was not offering anything or expecting anything just a bloody story. People always classed it as spam and that's what I hate. Many people jump on the band wagon and class you as a spammer and all we are is decent people trying to do something with our lives. That really used to grind my gears ggggrrrrrrrrrr :x
