I have decided that i'll add a blog to my site and was looking for a guide to blogging if there iis one. obviously i'll hopefully write interesting stuff that people want to read but i need to know things like how many words on average makes a good read and how many links per article should I put into other pages? and where are the best sites to submit each topic? Oh and if anyone wants to talk to me about installing it and setting it up feel free to pm me.
and if i need to know anything else dont hold back.
BTW it will be all about betting such as up and coming events, bonus offers etc etc

I use Blogspot as it's connected to Google Accounts, this way people can follow you and get notified when you create a new post.

As for the amount of words I usually go by the rule of thumb of 300-500 words, nothing too short and not an essay.

Write for the reader, but you can drop in your keywords if it reads natural enough. Deeplink keywords to relevant landing pages within your website, not just the home page URL.

I do research on the ezine website to see what others are writing about the same industry as mine, and this also gives you an idea of how other people construct their blogs.

I also tweet all new blog posts and add to Facebook.

Wordpress and Blogger would be a good choice. Since you are starting to do blogging, its both great for beginner. But for my personal view, I got more hits on wordpress rather than Blogger. An article contains 300 words minimum and the maximum is 1500 words.

Yep I agree with Nina, 300-500 words sounds about right. Try to include links at the end of your post if possible so it follows on naturally from (rather than disrupts) the main content.

Depending on your site you may decide (as a matter of personal preference) against deeplinking, however.

If you link solely to your homepage, then if you make any substantial changes to the structure of your website, then your rankings won't be affected by those changes.

The other critical factor is to keep producing content regularly. It will inevitably become a chore, but it will also reap benefits. You may want to consider outsourcing the article writing if you find you run out of inspiration at a later date!

Simple. Don't pay someone to write it for you. Write something that adds value and is something that people would recommend to their friends.
