I took my wee ones over to Edinburgh yesterday for their first trip to the festival, and I have to say just how impressed with it all I was.

As my grannie lives just down the road, I know Edinburgh well, but the Edinburgh I know (wet, blustery, polite but with reservation, slightly snobby and aloof) wasn't really out and about yesterday, instead a city full of people relaxed, happy and enjoying themselves.

Well organised. No highway robbery for food & drink (even in the main venues). Lots for the kids and the families.

I am very surprised and much impressed.

Well done Edinburgh!

(Can you finish those trams now please!)

It was all going so well until you mentioned the trams :)

You'll notice that the Fringe has nothing to do with Edinburgh Sh1tty Council, and it's a roaring success. You'll notice that ECC are in charge of the trams, and, well...

Perhaps we should arrange a meet-up of all the Scottish UKBFers!

I came to Edinburgh 12 years ago and never went home, I really do class it as home now. :)

It's a top place to live (except for the dustbins on wheels - trams) and the festival is top notch every year.

Plus in September we will be hosting the finals of the Archery World Cup (http://www.archeryedinburgh.co.uk/), the first time it's ever been held in the UK. Aside from the Olympics this is the pinnacle for Archery so it's a massive win for Edinburgh :)
