Hi everyone,

I currently have a full time job and am in the process of building up my own company but will not launch it for any trading for another year
or so. Untill I have fully completed the website and slowly built up my stock so I have plenty in stock so I can dispatch next day.

I wanted to know when I finally start trading I will register the company and file my yearly accounts but will it be ok to use my invoices which would be a year old to claim against tax etc or would they be too old and expired?

Kind Regards

Ross

When you say company, do you mean a limited company or are you using the word company instead of business?

To be honest I am not sure whether I would register as a sole trader or register as a limited company

Basically I want to slowly buy the stock up month by month for the business so it is ready fully stocked for launch but will stock purchases of over a year old count against my tax when I come to file my yearly accounts once I register as a sole trader or register the limisted company

regards

Ross

Pre trading purchases are allowable, they should be accounted for on the first day of trading.
