I have just bought a new desktop with Windows 7 (64 bit) on it.

Quickbooks wants me to have Outlook or Windows mail in order to e-mail statements and invoices. But Outlook will not run on Windows 7 and windows mail is now windows live mail, which Quickbooks will not work with.

I've had a look around the internet but can't see a solution.

Surely I am making a mistake here? It can't be that Quickbooks doesn't work on new systems?

You don't say which version of QB you have, but the Intuit sitre says that all current versions are compatible with W7.

Also, no idea why you think Outlook will not run on W7, we are doing it with no problems!

Thanks! I'll see if I can get a copy of that version to work.

None! - I can't get any to download on this new pc! (I use hotmail and gmail linked to windows live mail) I don't really want to have to upgrade my entire office package.

In theory I should have a 5 year old CD kicking about somewhere with it on, it was on my old PC. But finding it is going to involve tidying up!

Maybe I'll just scan the damn invoices! I don't e-mail that many out anyway.

This is ludicrous !!

I have a client happily working away on Quickbooks (pro) running on Windows 7, alongside Outlook 2003.

Intuit Quickbooks Support lists Outlook 2002, 2003, and 2007 as compatible in the support.quickbooks.intuit.com/support/pages/knowledgebasearticle/898469#seven. Office versions 2003 are fully compatible with Windows 7 and while not officially supported Office versions 2000 and 2002 have been social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7programs/thread/edb68f23-47ce-4a93-a713-94dfdca16560
