can anybody tell me how i can convert a publisher file into a pdf file and send in an e-mail

You need adobe pdf writer or a similar program.
www.adobe.com
if it's a small file I think they let you do 5 over the interent for free.

When my adobe went belly up i used this and it worked fine.

Alternatively you can download a free pdf converter like PDF 995 (http://www.pdf995.com/). After you install it you then open your Publisher document and select file, print, make sure you change the printer to PDF 995 and then it converts it and opens the pdf in Adobe Reader.
