In terms of SEO, is creating new, fresh pages a good thing?

I seem to have read conflicting arguments both for and against, and so had been looking at ways of creating new page content for my site but was struggling with what I could put on there.

Currently I have just created a news page so that I can aim to at least have something updated fairly frequently, but would it better to have my news articles on new pages and then making the article longer so I have fresh pages added on to my site, or is keeping them on the same page as it is currently just as useful as new pages would be?

Thanks

Content for the sake of content isn't worth a rats fart!

Content written to line up with researched long tail key phrases is a whole different thing.

you need to write for potential visitors, and it is so much easier oif you know what they are searching for.

you need to have 1 article per page with nice titles.

Ok then, so are you suggesting to make each news article its own, seperate page? But to ensure that each one of these pages is of a quality content that includes key phrases and so on that would be searched for by my potential clients?

Yep, just that :) also need to link internally to those pages so they are seen as part of your site. Wordpress as a blog will do this for you sweetly.

Ok then, thank you :) I'll have a look into it and see what sort of stories I can build enough of to keep it fairly fresh too.

Thanks :)
