Hi There,

I just thought I would see if any one had any ideas at all with a large problem I have :|.

We have a dedicated server and since moving to it sometime ago we have had an ongoing problems with our emails. They stop coming through at random time each day, could be midday, 2pm, 4pm, but each day they just stop and then don't come through until the following morning??. This happens to all email accounts on all computers. The settings are all fine on the computers set to delete off the server when read so it's not getting jam packed. We can send emails after they stop coming through and people get them.

We have tried and tried to get to the bottom of it to no avail. Has anyone got any idea as to what on earth this could be connected to or give me a clue where to start looking, we have checked and checked our settings on our server. We have been in touch with the company who we rent the server from but they wont help or can't.

I'd love any feedback as it's realy hard to run a business when your emails go on strike each day!!

Help :(

Are they not getting through to the server or not being collected by the client?

What server system are you using - OS, mail server etc?

Have you checked your email server logs?

If configured correctly they'll give you a very detailed insight as to what's going on.

Have you checked your email server logs?

Yes, that is where you will find the answer, or at least a pointer to where the problem might lie.

Who manages this server?

Check the mx routing. Good tool at (sorry cant post URL yet - search Google for mxtoolbox) its a handy free tool to help identify mail issues
