Hi folks
Is any one else experiencing problems with BTconnect emails? I have found that I can send alright but incoming emails are a problem. Some are coming straight through, some are delayed anything from 24 hours to 21 days and some are being bounced back to the sender.
Is anyone else experiencing anything similar. So far I have been told the problem is with our email forwarding company and/or with the server of the person who is sending the emails.
Hope to hear from you.

Yes I use BT Connect and it is far from perfect.
I have not had the deays that you have experienced but randomly an account will not function. the error messages are of no use to a lay person.
I regularly call up the help line and they seem to be able to effect some temporary improvement
Give them a call.
I prefer to use my web host's e-mail service - its not perfect but better than BT.

We find that BT connect email address have very strict firewall settings, many a time we have client with those accounts claiming they are not receiving our emails. Its because as a company we send out so many emails, we get black listed.
Most of the time the clients managed to change their settings to allow our emails to come in.

Why not move away from BT there are plenty of other better providers.

BT give you either BTInternet, BTBroadband, BTConnect or BTOpenworld.
Everyone I have spoken too with BTConnect has said that they have problems recieving emails, especially emails with hyperlinks to websites. However BT try to brush you off as they want you to stay with BTConnect!
One good thing with BT is they have fantastic email speeds!

I'm also having problems with btconnect.
Seems to be only on pop3 inbox messages-I keep getting a pop-up asking me to log-in to my a/c! I can have good times(with no error messages) and bad times(like now).
Any ideas?
Play with firewall?
Thanks

Dear All
We are a long established recruiter and regularly email candidates about vacancies. We keep having bounce backs from bt accounts, apparently bt have decided that our emails are spam.
Our candidates are furious that BT has decided to filter out our emails without informing them using the pretext that the emails maybe spam.
We have now had several conversation with BT who will do nothing as we are not the account holders.
We have spoken to OFCOM who say there is no legislation in place to prevent BT filtering out emails.
This is seriously affecting our business and our candidates are missing out on opportunties when they need them the most.
Has anyone got any suggestions?

btconnect is getting really clunky and becoming quite dysfunctional. As I run several businesses off this ISP this is becoming a real problem.
Is it to do with the obscenely slow broadband we get here in rural Wales? On a good day we get .5Mbps!

I work as an independent IT consultant and have recently taken on a customer that user's BTConnect. I have had a few problems but not regarding spam yet but my issues have been with BT's system in general.
Most people these days have several devices and need to check and file email, contacts etc on several devices (Iphone, Ipad, Android Etc). BTconnect's basic email system dont really allow you to use IMAP which lets your device manage your mail system remotely (in a nutshell). This is the problem I am having. They are slowly rolling out a new better system 365 I think it's called, bringing them up to date with the world (Hotmail, gmail blah blah).
They also offer a service for £4.95 per month, which allows you to share contact's emails, calenders on several devices, (like you can get free else where).
So come on BT pull your finger out, or like me other's will be tempted into moving to a proper system, that works.
Makes me laugh that my client has 110 mail boxes (only use 6)......whoppee 110? But none of them work the way I want them too.
They have different settings for customers that have been upgraded and those that haven't.......I'm confussed and I know what I'm doing...?! I think!?1

I used to have one some years ago and strangely received an email to that account last week. First time for years!
