name say's it all... ;)

what keywords did they say, was it national or local?

because local would not be hard for you...(just had a look at your site - you don't like images do ya?? ;) )

local would be very simply - just depends what they would charge you for the pleasure :D

Well firstly she asked how much I was getting via yell.cum

Well I've got a free listing with them but that's all, certainly not going to pay yell for anything. It seems that they were offering me sponsered listings but we didn't get around to price as I somehow managed to put the phone back on the hook.

Yep, maybe I should get some pics on my site

I have come accross this so many time in the last 8 years this is why i have left these types of agencies in the past. The oldest trick is to offer a number 1 spot to you but they choose it. Now, in the contract in very small print this can be an extreemly unrelevant longtail or even your brand name but once you sign they have you..."we didnt say what the no.1 term was sir"

I never have clients sign a contract, I want people to continue to use me because I do a good job, not because they are stuck with me lol - also its important to remember you get what you pay for, cheap seo = cheap results in my books (just my opinion) :D

I had someone call once.... not from topspot I think though.
They offered number 1 listings, then shortly followed it with "see where they are all pretty in the yellow box at the top... your site can be there with our SEO package"....

You should change the tabs to things that people search for.

No-one searching for "services" or "Testimonials" is going to find you

How about "PC Repair in Salisbury" and "Computer repair reviews in Salisbury"

And understand the one fundamental. People don't know your website exists. So you have to build it around what people already know, and how they would look for services *like* yours.

Then you build a website around a set of keywords. Not around what you think your business is.

I guess their website is topspotoptimisation.co.uk, but they so far failed to get top spot for 'top spot'

Never heard of them but honestly its very tough to guarantee top spot even if you are the best in the breed...

good advice maybe use some tols like keywordspy or the adwords keyword tool availiable online to see the terms people are using. And whilst you wait for the organic to kick in utilise the Adwords system to its full potential you will be surprised!!
