Simple question. How much is a link from google worth?
Not simple answer.
What is a page rank 10 link worth?
Is a page rank 10 link from google worth anything if the website is of no real relevance.
I have my reasons for asking this question, and I will make it clear soon.
To sum up would a link from google really be beneficial as they aren't really an authority on anything. More like a jack of all trades.
Bring on the storm.

depends what your site was - but it would be a good link to have regardless. In terms of value - who knows?
Matt Cutts has a link from Google - I don't think he paid for it though? :)

I've got thousands of links from Google, all pointing to my website.
Cross my palm with silver and I might tell you how I got them!

listings don't actually count.
this is a cached page.
I want an opinion on the validity of the link.
Is it worth the effort (not much effort really)

Post in the google forums and make a full profile and you get links from google.
Just to add:
A lot of PR5 and even 6 profiles.
Like everything else though, you get out of it what you put in.

Post in the google forums
Forum links are all devalued either by Google or the forum itself. Its too easy to remove link worth these days - just no-follow them.

Back in my black hat days I used to manipulate google SERPs pages with ascii and get google pages indexed and passing link juice.
Not a wise thing to do with sites of any value though.

I think if the links is cached and its still out of google's notice it should be well worth the effort.
We keep on testing effects of all kind of links so best method is to just test and see...
