How do I hide a value in a cell until it's relevant?
I'm setting up a very simple spreadsheet for monthly credit card payments. As I copy each cell's formula down the sheet so it's ready for the next 12 months, (balance plus interest and purchases less payments, etc.) it carries forward the value right down the sheet for all the next 12 months. I know it doesn't matter but it looks messy.
Not sure if that explained it very well?!
How do I keep it blank until I get to the month in question?
Many thanks

Not sure if I have envisaged your spreadsheet correctly but you can hide rows by putting your cursor on the numbered border, click the left mouse button and hold down while you drag the cursor over the row numbers that you wish to hide (When you release the mouse button they should be highlighted).
Then right click the mouse button which should bring up a menu.
Select hide. This will hide the rows.
To unhide the rows follow as above but highlight the row numbers either side of the hidden range.
Right click and select unhide.
If this is not the solution I'll try again :D

Thanks Alan
I haven't explained it well!
I'm fine with the months showing, I just don't want any values showing in the months until I get to them.
I need a formula to say something like : this cell is to show 0 until cell x has a value entered into it

Hayley
I think you need the if and else statements then.
Not possible to tell you what though without seeing the spreadsheet.
E mail it to me and I'll see if I can sort it for you :D

I am not sure that you can. Perhaps you could just drag it down to the point at which you are. And only draw it down to the next row when you use that row.
Does that make sense?
