Little confused on a few things and just want to confirm a few things as I have read different opinions on this. Any help and clarification would be most appreciated.

Firstly general info on my company:

Companies house:

Company Type: Private Limited Company
Accounting Reference Date: 31/05
Last Accounts Made Up To: (NO ACCOUNTS FILED)
Next Accounts Due: 24/02/2012
Last Return Made Up To:
Next Return Due: 21/06/2011

Certificate of incorporation given at companies house on the 24th May 2010

Questions I need to clarify.

1.The date on which the companys's first accounting period began?
Would this be 24th May 2010 as this is when the company started and started making money?

2. The date which the company intends to prepare its accounts.
Is this the accounting reference date given by companies house that I found online? 31/05 that would be 31/05/2011?

Thank you for your time and any help given.

Thank you so much.

I forgot to ask if anyone knows.

My certificate of incorporation of a private limted company number differs from the number on the companies house website. The difference being the number on companies house website has a 0 in front and is 8 numbers, on my certificate is exactly the same but has no 0 in front and is 7 numbers?

Thank you for the guide aswell =) will give it a read now.

Just remember there is nothing to stop your changing your year end date to a date that you require.

You should ensure that if you wish to change your year end date that it is done before the first set of accounts are due to be filed at Companies House.

Hi,

I am little bit confused on Question 1:

Though our company is incorporated on 23rd June, 2010, We did not receive any revenue till now. In that case, can you please advise the date, the accounting period begin?

Can we select any date for this?

Thank you for your time.

The first accounting period always starts on the date of incorporation.

The first accounting period always starts on the date of incorporation.

For Companies House accounts perhaps, but not for corporation tax. A corporation tax accounting period does not start until the company starts to trade.

I have to fill in the CT41G form. Could anybody helps me out with this please:

1. I m not sure when the accountig period begins (field no. 1). Can I rather fill in the date of incorporation if I m not sure when the company starts any bussines activity? Is it a mistate?

For example if the company was incorporated on 23/11/2010 and the bussines activity starts on 15/1/2011, can I fill in the date 23/11/2010?

2. According the companies house's web check is our Accounting Reference Date 30/11 (date of incorporation is 23/11/2010), what should I fill in the field no. 8. ? 30/11/2011 or 30/11/2012.

Thank you very much for you time.

Do you have an accountant? If so I'd suggest getting them to fill the form in for you.
