Hi Guys,
I am going to start an overture account soon, but there is 2 options when you sign up.

1. Do it all yourself-FREE
2.Overture helps you set up keywords and the like, monitors your performance and stuff-£79 one off

Has anyone any experience of doing t either way. £79 is not a lot of money, but is it worth what you get?

Also one tip i picked up. if you do sign up for overture, join the newsletter first. they give you £50 PPC credit extra for joining by clicking through the offer in the newsletter!!!

We did the "fast" signup. By the time we finished it was actually a lot slower than the normal startup!!

We had a few problems with our keywords but the issues were 50/50. Unfortunately some of the guys at Overture arn't as helpful as they could

OK so would you say the service was worth £79?

Or is it best to just jump in have a go, and well "hope for the best"

I suppose with the £50 free for signing up, i can afford to make a few mistakes??

I would have to say based purely on our experience no it isn't worth it. However I asked a friend and he said it was perfect so we may have been a one off.

If you ask around here http://www.webmasterworld.com/home.htm you'll probably find a better answer. The guys on here really knwo their stuff when it comes to PPC on Adwords and Overture.

Generally the £79 charge is not worth paying. Overture quote around 9 working days to set up DIY PPC, but in practice usually deliver within a few minutes if nobody else is bidding on your terms, and within 3 days on a term with lots of active bidding.

I'd say that the £79 would be better spent on some one-on-one help from a PPC expert, or extra advertising.

Cheers,

David
