As being such a small company, does anyone know of anyone who does web hosting for a .co.uk web domain for around £100 a year maximum, and maybe out of that budget I could use some to get a bit of help with the design!?
Thanks,
Matt

There are a few hosts around the forums, vshosting, twd, 4d and us of course - our basic package starts at £35 per year so we could squeeze some design in on that £100 for you if you like.

£100 per year is very reasonable budget, depending on how much help you need with the design. Most of the hosts Matrixx mentioned should be able to work out a deal for you.

I would need a lot of help with the design of the website, I mean I know how to make a fairly basic website, and maybe a little more using Frontpage, but that's about as far as my knowledge stretches!
Any help like this would be appreciated and if you need any details please feel free to ask.

Maybe what you need is a CMS (Content Management System) type of setup - where the template is set and you just add / edit / delete the content via an onscreen editor...????
We could do you a deal on hosting and some template customisation within your budget...

To be fair if you can do CMS with that on a budget of £100 that is one hell of a deal!

Tony, is there any chance that you could send me a couple of sample templates just so I could see what the quality is like
VS, I will have a look around your website, see what I can find!
Thanks again,
Matt

Impressive web hosting is available in the US at extrememly reasonable prices. I am currently using pagesgarden.com to host my web site and they offer PHP/Myadmin and 5 MYSQL databases for just $4.99 per month. You can have multiple domain names, unlimited sub domains and email addresses and it comes with shared SSL to boot, if you want a secure shopping cart. It works out about 35 quid a year, can't be bad.
Let me know if you need any more info. It makes me sick what people try to charge in this country for half this service.
Thanks

What really makes me sick is when people chip into threads having a pop at webhosts when they don't really understand the market... PLEASE do not slag of UK hosts as they have a very tough time trying to compete with US hosts as it is...
The simple fact of the matter is that the costs to UK webhosting companies is massive compared to the USA, have you ever tried to get a decent server in the UK for decent money???? And the shocking fact is that UK datacenters are actually INCREASING prices so UK hosting prices could possibly rise this year and some of the cheaper companies could hit the wall....
It's a hard life being in the UK hosting business, people expect unbelievable support for peanuts... So PLEASE do not slag us all off with a post like that.

I have to say you usually get what you pay for. In my experience cheap hosting doesnt usually mean good hosting!

Sorry. We all have to compete in the marketplace and I just way up what the best deal is for me. I will buy in the UK even when it's slightly more expensive, but we need to draw the line somewhere. It was not my intention to offend, however, I clearly understand the market.
Thanks
