Easy now people

I have been speaking to someone today and he told me anout a great site 18866.com

You register and then before dialing you enter 18866 then dial the number as normal. It costs 4p to connect then the call is free to landlines.

Check out the website www.18866.com, I am not an agent of anything I just think people can benefit from it thats all.

I am going to sign up later today. The guy said his phone bills went from £100 a month to £15 and hhe said the service was great.

Make sure you check for other services when the one you're using changes its pricing - their trick is to have a great offer for a month or two then gradually increase the price. There's lots of them about (mainly owned by the same company) so keep switching.

Otherwise for simple telephone calls they are very good.

we've used 18866 for a long time now - they are great!

(although they used to be 2p connection, then 3p and now a whapping 4p connection fee)

Our bills have dropped from £170 a month to around £30 - one of my clients I recommended them to now struggles to get his phone bill over £10 a month!

moneysavingexpert is brilliant I use it all the time, its a shame they dont have a business forum though :(

Guys you will also want to check out www.simply-fone.com. If you have free cross network minutes on your mobile you can call anywhere in the world effectivly for free. Nice little loophole

When you call a mobile, what number does it come up with? is it still your landline or "with held number".

i am not convinced either.
Once i registered the was a FAQ saying that the prices to uk calls were .5p per minute.
with BT its FREE if the call last not longer than 1 hour.
I am still a fan of skype.

BT doesn't do that free call thing on their basic line rental package though. I think the idea is that you get the most basic and cheap line rental package available and THEN use firms like 18899.

I have used these services for the past 3 years and they do all work with varying degrees of success. Seemed a bit too good to be true but I can vouch for all services mentioned 100%

Do you have to be with BT to use these - or does it work with Telewest as well?

I believe you can do it with all providers. I think it is all in the FAQs on the website.

I think you can even use mobiles.

I just want to check something with people already using this service.

It says on the website that calls to mobiles are also 0p a minute, is this really true? If so this is going to be dangerous!

Those who have spoken to me before know that talking is a hobby of mine and my phone bills are a little daft at the moment.

Thanks

Hmm dubious. I think you might find that it may be like that during off peak times. I get 100% free calls through bulldog broadband now but last time I used these services they were till charging 7p per min peak time. Which is still a lot better but who knows.

So is 18866 the best for calling mobiles, or which one is best for this, my mobile bill is massive..
