Hi I run a leaflet distribution business based in Lincoln. At the moment we cover all of the east midlands but we have aot of agents in Nottingham. We have had work in nottingham but it is not one of our strongest areas for getting work.
There are already companies in nottingham who offer leaflet distribution but we woudl like to target that area as there are alot of busineses. Does anybody know how we can improve our rankings on the google search when people type in leaflet distribution nottingham ?

Make sure you have those keywords in the content of your site. Do you have a good SEO foundation to work on these new word from?
Then get link building, and include the keys in the anchor text of your links. Mix it up a bit too.

Without seeing your site (put it in your profile) it is impossible to say, but competition is not great, so maybe just need some tweeks to your website.
Link exchanges rarely have much benefit.

You could also purchase a business address in Nottingham and insert a Google Local Business ad. They're free. That would give you a presence on localised searches fairly quickly.

Best thing to do for you will be to get a listing in google locals, and submit yourself to local business directories with your Nottingham address listed also mention your Nottingham address on your contact us page clearly..
That should help ..
Other than that you can also get some backlinks using the right anchor texts..

I also would advise going for the Google Places listing.

If you are using a legitimate address for the listing, then it's not a duplicate and you won't have to worry about having it removed.

In fact Google encourages a local business listing and website for each business location that you have.

Even if you don't have a legitimate address in Nottingham, you might still want to consider adding a Places listing for it anyway
