recording Fuel scale Charge

Hi,

Is it ok to record the Fuel SCale charge at the end of every year...is 31/12/10? Or would it have to be at the end of the companys financial year?

Or if the changes by HRMC are on the 1 may every year, is it best to record then?

Or what really :)

Why would you not record them at the end of every VAT quarter?

1) Because they weren't recorded.
2) If one should record at the end of each VAT quarter why does HMRC offer monthly, yearly and quarterly?

I am not interested in the whys and wherefores...just if it can be recorded monthly/quarterly or annually. :)

Either way I presume from your answer there is no set 'recording date'?

As I am more than happy to record monthly, I just wanted to make sure it wasn't pre-ordained as to when such a recording needs to take place. :)

You didn't say that they weren't recorded, but in any event the question stands as you were asking when to record them.

To allow forpeople who have monthly, yearly or quarterly VAT returns! :)

I think that you may have guessed tjat I'd record them every VAT quarter so that the records tie up with the VAT returns.
