I wish to restore a dissolved company (due to missed filings), submit all outstanding paper work & any outstanding monies to the revenue (I don't think there is any to pay), get access to the circa 16K that is currently bon vacantia and then close the company immediately with no further trading.
Basically I wish to tidy up a past mess up!
This company was registered in Scotland and was a one-man band IT contractor company.
Does anyone know of any accountant who can help/ has experience with this - probably in Scotland?
many thanks

Company law may well differ in Scotland as with the procedures. Once dissolved it remains dissolved. You would be best seeking advice from an accountant/lawyer in your area

Try this link re Companies House website and Scottish companies:
http://www.companieshouse.gov.uk/about/gbhtml/gbw2s.shtml
Given the criteria for restoration, you may need an experts advice for putting forward the argument that it is "just" that the company be restored.
The legislation looks similar to England and Wales, so look at one of the agents that advertise restortations and contact them to see if they deal with companies registered in Scotland.
Good luck

Thanks for the replies - the process does seem to be quite simple when reading through the companies house info etc - I've already contacted the firms that specialise almost purely on restores & all seems to be straight forward - but - the sticking point seems to be the Scottish registration - none of the obvious companies can deal in this jurisdiction.

Hi Alby
Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question but have you tried contacting a firm of accountants in Scotland. With phone, fax and e-mail it's now no longer necessary for you to use a local accounant.
The ACCA can provide you with details of firms of accountants anywhere in the UK (or the world for that matter). Just click on the following link to access the directory of business advisors, plug the name of a city/town in the relevant field and see what comes up.

I think you will really need a legal firm
You could try these guys:
City Law Services Limited
47 Park Square East
Leeds
West Yorkshire
LS1 2NL
Freephone: 0800 970 6628
Email: jackie@citylawservices.co.uk
They advertise that they from companies in Scotland and they do company restorations so I guess they would do restorations of Scottich Registered companies - must be a good place to start
Fees look reasonable, but I would suggest you budget £1,500 or so for the restoration fess and associated costs, based on what I have seen elsewhere
