Hi Guys and Girls I have just got my first client for my new business and I have the Barclays Essentials Account, I am trying to figure out how to set up an invoice and a quote for my client but cant figure it out. Any help would be much appreciated..... Anyone know of any good books that I should order, or has anyone been on the course that Barclays offer?

Hi Annette
The Barclays courses are quite good.
If you really want to use Sage you'd probably benefit from some proper training to get going. I think a few people on this forum offer Sage training, your local college may also do something?
In my opinion Sage isnt the easiest package to get to grips with for someone with no accounting background.
Good luck with the new venture.

With respect Annette it may be a sledge hammer to crack a nut.
IMO Barclays are very good at charging for Sage and it may be given your web design business, that this is just more than you need just now. It all depends on how many clients you will have, costs etc.
Before you get too far down the line I would suggest looking at the total cost of the Essentials package versus e.g. Kashflow.
Don't forget you have your accounting fees on top of what you are paying.
Are you a sole trader or limited company.

If you do decide not to pay for the Barclays/Sage package you have a HUGE choice - many cheaper and, in my opinion, much easier options. It depends on how committed you are to use Sage.
Before we started our combined bookkeeping and accounts package I used to see alot of very messy jobs where people had tried to use Sage and not done very well!

I have gone passed the stage where I have the option to cancel SAGE, I believe it will be worth it at the end of the tax year, just a shame I have to go on a number of courses to master it. The legal advice also comes in quite handy from Barclays.

Going back to your original post, is it the entry of the invoice/quote that is causing a problem or is it the layout for printing?

Can I ask why - what is the cancellation policy just for my info please.
Being a member for the FSB also provides free legal advice.

Hi there, I am trying to find the agreement for the SAGE software, but I was told I could only cancel within the first 7 days of activating the software?
