Hi everyone
My name is Nigel and I recently (5 months ago) opened a pet shop in Windsor with my daughter Danielle in Windsor. The shop is doing very well beating the plan and growing all the time.
It is a new venture for us and we are new to the scary world of the self employed. We have made mistakes, but are learning fast.
Our thoughts for the future are to expand the business by selling on-line of which we have absolutely no idea of where to start, but everyone seems to be doing it, and perhaps add a couple more shops to the chain.
We have lots of ideas on how to improve our sales and get customers through the door, but tend to be busy fools and never seem to have the time to put them into practice.
What are we looking for from this forum? I suppose it would be to benifit from like minded people who can offer practical advice and to know we are not alone.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
Nigel

Hi Nigel
Welcome to UKBF and best of luck with your business.
There is a guy on here that makes wonderful dog treats - Matt from Dawganic Dawg Treats http://www.dog-treat.co.uk
Maybe he could be a useful contact for you.

Welcome, pet store online - reminds me of the story of the big online pet store that burned through £10 millions, including commissioning their own theme song before crashing spectacularly in about 2000.
I am sure you could bring pet stuff online without all that and make a great success of it.
Good luck.

Hi Nigel nice to see a traditional shop on the forums.
A lot of good advice here so ask plenty of questions, even though most of the traders are virtual there is a lot of knowledge and experience here.
Also, might be of interest - I own a shopping site that focuses on real shops and I am running a half price promotion this week (listing from £5pa)
