Hello. An excellent site you guys have here. Hope some you can help me out.

Im making my first venture with a new business selling sports training aids for children. I have a few unique products, which are backed up with equipment sales.

I plan on selling to the UK through an E-Commerce website which will explain the benefits and providing an outlet to buy.

However, i do predict many of my sales will come from the States and Austrailia. I dont like the idea of huge postage costs putting off customers and am looking for the best soloution all round.

Sorry for the long first post and thanks for any replies.

Rob

You'll need vat to come off if the cardholder is outside the EU.

Shipping costs are unavoidable so you better make it clear what they are.

Finally make sure you get the currency clear to the customer so that if you show your prices in pounds they can buy in dollars.

It is common for Americans to think they have found a great bargain on UK sites not realising they are paying in pounds which are roughly half the dollar value.

Thanks Sillyjokes.

Can i configure the shopping cart to deal with the VAT issue? Are certain shopping carts more suitable for international trading than others?

Also, would customs give any problems over there? The total value of goods would be less than £100 and just 3kg max.

Thanks again
