Hi guys,

Thinking of putting an advert in a sports programme.

Quite expensive but seems to get decent coverage.

In order to cut costs, i was thinking of maybe splitting some ad space into say 2 or 3 simple spaces to advertise websites in.

Any one fancy a third share of some space??

Not sure on costs yet - will let you know before you commit - just drumming up interest at present!

I have been considering sponsoring a game at Colchester United.....Usual crowds of about 3500-4500. ( this thread is not about our lwest attendance in the league figure's ...don't laugh!)

You can get 6 people in to the game and a 3 course meal with wine each, for about £650. Including matchball sponsorship, and an editorial in the match day program. You also get your picture taken on the pitch before the game......so lots of credits to your business

Otherwise matchday program sponsorship is starting at about £500 for the season...

any thoughts on this approach?

If you find out the deadline date and have your add ready you will get a lot better pricing.

This is called an RTR (ready to run) and will often get very good results.

Right I see.

Well for example, I think that £500 is a lot of money to go out to 3000 people.

This is where i'm thinking it a good idea to split a quarter page ad into 3 thirds that are small but yet get your URL over at a discounted rate really.

Just need to check that a club would be ok to do this.

Im sure if it filled a space they would.

£6 a pop isn't that bad if you this is your key demographic reach though surely.

Ok , fair point 3000 people is not a lot, but 3000 people 23 times over the course of a year....as you are in the program every home game ( your advert is you wouldn't fit!)

That is 69,000 views of your advert....for £500

Looks a bit better now???

£500 for 3000 people is a lot of money.

i.e. a cost per thousand of £166.00

For me that would need to be very very targeted at even half that price!

Do you want the same people to see you add 30+ times or 30 x more people to see your add?
