Try these:
Ogilvy on Advertising - David Ogilvy
My life in Advertising - Claude Hopkins
Jay Abraham's book
The Ultimate Sales Letter by Dan Kennedy is a decent introduction to writing sales letters.

Have a look at http://blog.guykawasaki.com/ and scroll down the right hand side to get to his list of books. Read the whole blog site as well, it only started in Jan I think. Even tho' not strictly applicable to only marketing, it has I think some of the best business advice I have seen; certainly as good, and much broader and up to date than David Ogilvie, who I also rate.
Seriously clever guy; one of the inner core who made Apple happen, now a hi-tech venture capitalist and all round clever good chap.

hmm... so many books. How long you going for?
Some of my faves,
E-Tales by Matt Beumont - Not exactly a marketing or ad book, but a funny way of getting an insight into how the industry works
Andrew Griffiths, very good - Ways to market your business
Common Sense Direct Marketing - Drayton Bird
Viral Marketing - Russell Goldsmith - dated now but the principles still work
For the PR side, rather than read a formal text book, read something like Piers Morgans - The Insider, very good depiction of the journo world.
One book I had recommended to me was "Selling the Invisible" by Harry Beckwith. I am currently reading this and whilst the example he uses are good, so far it is all the usual stuff of applying a bit of common sense rather than giving a deep insight. saying that I am only half way through it and cannot give a detailed summary.
Happy reading
