Hi everyone,
I was just wondering how 2006 is shaping up for all of you.
Have you had a good 2 first months or are you still waiting for business to kick off ?

Bakery.. Busy, quiet, busy again, it was really busy on Friday, double takings, very nice :D
Websites... slow, but I haven't done much with them yet, but in no hurry. I'll have some serious camping to do, when I get my campervan, before I put 100% into them. :D

We are crucially dependent on the development work being done for us overseas. We've recruited someone to take over all matters technological, and he'll oversee this development. I was invited to speak at an international conference on elearning last weekend and made a number of useful contacts there. I met my business partner last weekend, and she was a great encouragement - as always.
Our timeline this year is already well-defined: complete the development work, test the new system, identify partners and content providers, launch the first phase of our concept, and so on. Everything's coming together, but it's difficult to be patient. I'm such an impetuous person; thank goodness that my partner has good business sense.

I have had an amazing run of both enquiries and bookings. Winter, obviously, is not always a profitable time for 'outdoor workers,' but I was back on deck on Jan 3rd and have been extremely busy since that with both large and small jobs, commercial and residential and having (enjoyably) to work on Saturdays to keep up.
In contrast, I am regularly asked by my timber wholesaler why I'm always busy. I guess I must be doing something right!!
Cheers, Nigel

2006 has been OK for us so far - another business I run (that I have never mentioned on the forums) has had some really exciting times and looks like exponentially exploding in the next 12 months.
Customers are very happy which is the main gauge of my business !

Quiet but as I need to do some marketing, that's no surprise. Planning my marketing to remedy this.

Busier than expected to be honest. I did lose out though (by quite a bit) when I went on a course in Jan. :)

Had a quiet spell for a while just before xmas but then got 11 months of work in the first 3 days of Jan. No complaints really :-).

Things went mad in January with a huge corporate art commission, now I've just got to paint them all!!
Could do with a steady flow of orders over the next month or two and theres a chance I could consider going full time!

Very excited - The Shopping site is shaping up very well, and we start to hit the PR trail next month (still coding at the moment!). I NEED MORE HOURS IN THE DAY!!!
BTW Tugs and Matrix - I'm not to busy to notice your lack of listing on theShoppersBible to date. :)

Oh Geez, Webit, I completely forgot. I do want to do it but I first need to find that daft sod who invented a day with only 24 hours in it. I think I'll end up paying you for my listings.
I'll do my best to get a grip on it tomorrow, fingers crossed and cheers for the reminder

Jon, I've already noticed something along these lines.
Whenever I get dragged to do the shopping it seems like there's more than 24 hours in the day particularly if it's coming off my credit card.
I think everything is built around the theory of relativity which basically can be summed up as (my apologies to Einstein)
"Get your hands on a hot iron and 1 second feels like an hour."
"Get your hands on a hot woman and 1 hour feels like a second"
Hope that helps a little

and if a woman gets a hand on your bank card......she takes an a couple of hours to spend what will take you an eternity to pay off..lol.. :D :D

This reminds me of what my favourite uncle used to tell me: "What you need is a good night with a bad woman."

Although I have only just started to set up my business, and haven't given up the day job. I am pleased with my progress and have two very serious prospects that I am talking to about my services and how I will be able to work with them, both of these are new start-ups. So things looking good.
And considering that I am about 4 months ahead of my original plan for the company I'm happy.
