I'm looking for sites that I can advertise www.craftmonkeys.co.uk and www.clairemackaness.co.uk on for free as well as forums that are busy!

I've tried shell live wire and ecademy but didn't like them much.

Ideally I'd like to find some for mums where I can post from craft monkeys and also design/art forums where I might be able to source further commissions.

I've visited all the freelance sites, but they are more about graphic and web design rather than actual art as such.

I've spent hours on Google but not come up with much. Any suggestions?

Its not a forum but you could try adding to http://www.juniormagazine.co.uk/ for craftmonkeys.

Ive never heard of the ones you mentioned above!

I suggest trying to get online kids shops to put one of your banners on their sites.

I would imagine you will be doing the kids stuff locally so my first port of call would be the local nurseries, sports centres and arts centres to see if they have any noticeboards where you can leave a flyer or poster.

Claire you can add your link into their directory for free and its a popular site. To be honest thats the best way to get your site known is to initially find free link directories to add it onto. You wont find any forum that will advertise your site (bannerwise anyway) for free.

Thanks I hadn't noticed that. I'll need to sort out a links page first though as you need to recipricol link.

The other good way to get your site known is to join forums where they allow you to display your site name and/or advertise your site.

Thats what I want to do Ravenfire, the original post asks for recommendations for relevant forums.

I know of various forums that will let you advertise your site as long as you dont go on there merely to promote your site, not sure if thats really what you are looking to do?

I gained the impression from your first post that you were looking for something more in the line of advertising by way of banner or a text link than actually participating in sites.

Have you tried googling for parents sites, parents forum, baby forums? You will find 100's.

Claire no one has bought the slot for advertising on the cover of my magazine. I can give you that spot for free if you like. Also if stuart writes a page for me I will include your Art advert as usual as well. :D

Not sure you'll get much work from them though, they are mostly communities and somehwere to get feedback on your work than source commissions

Some of them are also a really geared towards digital art also. Is that something you currently do or have thought about doing?
