View Full Version : Flash is the root of all evil

It an unintuitive, over complicated, fiddly, contradictory, unfriendly spawn of the devil application.

It's a wonder people out there actually learn to use it without chewing their fingers off before they save their first file.

Does anyone else use flash?

Flash can offer the most brilliant designs on the Internet, EVER, if the person is good at it. I think it's tremendous, but everyone has a different style of using it and asking for a simple 'Flash designer' doesn't cover everything.

But, because of it being 'fiddly', it takes a long time to produce and therefore is the most expensive form of design too.

Yes it does produce absolutely amazing things, that is why I persevere with it so much.

You can see when you use it the potential you have to do lots of crazy and brilliant things but in terms of how the application is actually built, I hate it. It is evil.

It's like it doesn't want you to know how to use it?

I actually find it quite intuitive and the ActionScript facilities were great (when I started learning it back on Flash 5). I am going to pick it all up again later this year to work with a Flash designer.

I think you must just be odd then :)

It's widely known to be unintuitive and badly designed. I've read that Adobe's LiveMotion is based on flash, but much more logical, but I've never tried it. Has anyone else?

I would never deny that for a second

I thought they killed off LiveMotion? And seeing that Adobe and Macromedia are now one, some decent combination will be coming out in 2007

Yes I'm certainly hoping for that!

Macrodobe are the future!
