Blogs are new to me.

I am primarily driven to hold a blog so I can create quality back links to some of my businesses.

However, I do not quite understand the RSS feeds.

So my questions are:

I have created a blog @ blogger.com www.telemarketinggb.blogspot.com (http://www.telemarketinggb.blogspot.com/) what is the rss feed address????? I can't find the answer anywhere.

I have created a feed at feedburner, is this what I need? as I have an address for this.... but what does this do?

I have seen huge lists of Blog directories, should I enter the blog in as many as possible and add the feed details when I get them?

Any other good tips for getting traffic, visitors, followers to a business blog about telemarketing (http://www.telemarketinggb.com/)?

OK,

1. Your blog will not create quality backlinks back to your businesses.
2. The RSS feed is what I would use to preview your blog in a reader. All you do is create the feed and I subscribe.
3. You get visitors by writing great posts, buy informing and entertaining, providing great content that adds value and people actually want to read.

I run a blog off the back of my website and one thing I do is make use of Twitter to promote the blog, the website, and our services/offers but also mix in some friendlier, less business like tweets. The links are in my signature.

My blog is in wordpress and one of the plug-ins allows you to automatically tweet about your latest blog article. Not sure if blogger.com has anything like this though.

I guess one of the most important things with blogs is too keep them up-to-date, interesting to read and let your audience know what you're upto. Talking of which... I need to write something for mine. :D

Hi All

Would you say a blog is a good thing for any company to produce...

I am sure i could keep it stocked with good stories and articles if it will help us.

On that though, why does it help?

I wrote blog posts about the adwords cowboys and link building scams. The blog is integrated into my main site. As a result of the blogs posts (which Google has on page 1) I've picked up two new clients. So yes, it does work.

The trick is to provide something people are searching for.

Spend some time reading the advice on copyblogger.com

Also use StumbleUpon and Digg to generate traffic.

Lots of commenting on other blogs will also help to increase your traffic. I started our blog a few months ago (you can see it here (http://www.stockdisplays.co.uk/blog/)) and now get around 100 visitors per day using mainly those tactics.

Getting traffic to a new blog is difficult. First, you should make sure your posts are optimised for search engines, then find blogs in a similar niche to yours and make interesting comments on them - you get a link from your signature (it is generally best if you use your real name and not your keywords, otherwise your comment may not get approved).

Other ways to get traffic - Twitter, Facebook, Ezine Articles, Digg (and similar sites).

Also, create a Gravatar (search for it) - this is a small image associated with an email address and will appear on Gravatar enabled blogs when you comment.

Your feed is set up correctly but I wouldn't spend too much time submitting it to blog/feed directories. Your time would be better spent elsewhere.

Also use StumbleUpon and Digg to generate traffic.

I also just started my personal blog at www.thecreativeeffect.com (http://www.thecreativeeffect.com) - it's about graphic design and photography. Sitting here looking for ways to get more traffic too and what directories I can add it too. I'm currently cross promoting it with Twitter and FaceBook.

Now going to try StumbleUpon and Digg:D
