Blog Spam

Hello

I have a fairly new blog through wordpress. I am attracting a large amount of Spam comments which then link to mostly dodgy businesses.

Is there anyway to eliminate this action?

I'm sure that if you are the admin then you are able to delete the comments also I think you can set which characters are not allowed for example, .co.uk, if someone types that in then it won't allow it so that way they won't be able to.

I just recently got one but I then just deleted the comment but I usually wait for them to do it again and if they do then I just ban them if not then I might just allow it the odd times dependant on the comment...

The askimet addon is supplied as standard, you just need a key. It's pretty effective. Have a look in the dashboard under plugins.

I make sure all comments are set to approve first before even allowing them on my website. I get more spam comments than anything else :(
