2 websites on 1 host

i use shared hosting and 1 website.
I have a pretty basic question.
If I buy another completely seperate domain, and want to build a second website, is it possible to do it on the same hosting to save me money (i have a basic hosting account) or not?

what control panel do you use ? if your package has addon domain option enabled you can add second domain under main domain, Cpanel and plesk do have this feature.

But just check if your hosting package is allowed addon domain feature.

This depends on which control panel and which package you have - on cPanel this will come down to whether you are allowed to use 'addon domains'.

The answers given are correct, but I would suggest that the answer is 'no'.

Best way to find out is to phone you hosting company and ask them if you can.

Although most hosting companys I have come across make their money from one website one domain one hosting package.

Obviously if you know how to use your control panel etc etc etc...then there is no need to phone your hosting company. :)

Most hosting providers limit you to space, not to the amount of domains you can serve websites on. You should be able to set the hom directory in the settings of the domain.
