Can anyone help, we are a small new electrical testing company who have just purchased Sage financial package ie instant accounts & payroll and hoped i would be able to teach myself how to use it but i havnt got very far!

Can anyone offer or advise where i can get some traning.

I have contacted the local college but they dont seem to offer what we need and a one - one trainer's price via the college is £355 + vat for one day 6 hours which seems excessive or am i out of touch with fee prices?

any help much appreciated.

Have you tried looking on the Sage website?

I'm not a Sage fan myself but I'm fairly certain Sage will offer training and, or recommend suitable tuition providers in your area.

I live in oxfordshire and quite willing to help come and set you up using sage with ongoing training if you are interested. sage is not a programme you can learn over night. I am a bookekeper with 15 years of sage expereince.

It seems that you have a number of good training offers to choose from.

I'd recommend that you agree a clear set of expectations about the skills you'll learn in each training session. I know from experience that it's easy to find yourself being taught stuff that you don't really need to know.

And get as much hands-on practice as possible during the training. Don't just watch while the trainer does it - you learn so much more from doing.

Finally, make lots of mistakes. I know it sounds silly, but we all learn from mistakes. The more you get wrong, the more you'll learn about how to fix things and what not to do for real.

A final finally... don't train on your live system. Use a training data - a company set up solely for the purposes of training. That way you can make as big a mess as you like and it won't upset your system.

£40 per hour plus VAT for Sage/ACT Training, plus mileage from out offices in Hartwell. I always prefer to do training in short sessions of 2-3 hours at a time otherwise I find people glaze over and can't take everything in!

I can backup up with telephone support or remote linking into your machine for follow ups and questions also.
