Helpful SEO Video from Googles Matt Cutts

Saw this video by Matt Cutts yesterday. From Googles I/O conference. It's an hour long, but it's well worth watching for SEO purposes. In it they review a number of different websites and discuss the positive and negative points surrounding their SEO.

There's some helpful tips in there. It's well worth watching.

I can post a link, but just Google "Matt Cutts" and see the article on his blog entitled:

Ok, I just watched the first half of this and while it is mildly interesting what was said during that period could have been said in less than five minutes. I don't have time to watch the rest. :(

Actually Matt Cutts is starting to grate on me a bit. He seems to be trying to morph into some kind of a rock star for the nerds. ;) I wish he would just get on with it rather than trying to be a performer. A wee bit of humour in dry presentations is OK but he's no Billy Connolly is he?

Does anyone know if there is a summary of this anywhere on the web?

Well this is quiet an interesting video. It is really helpful for one who is doing SEO for his site.

It's quite good. Pretty much going over the basics though, no real gems there.

No, only Billy Connolly can be that unfunny. :p

That's exactly what I thought, watched the whole thing looking for that magic nugget of info I don't have, it didn't appear!!

Or, or, maybe what Mr cutts says, is all there is too it????
The rest is just smoke and mirrors???

:):)

That's about it really - he's been giving away the biggest secret for years but too many people want the silver bullet.

I am very much just learning the basics of seo and i find the video invaluable.
I thought the bit about getting hacked was really usefull, with this bit of info, i can avoid learning the hard way

Hopefully that's the main thing people will take from the video. In SEO there is no magic nugget, it's just getting your page elements right and then getting good quality links to your site.

No magic, no secrets, no tricks, just time, hard work and creativity.

It doesn't matter how hard you bang this drum, people don't want to hear it ;)

It's like telling fat people to eat less, they know that's why they are fat but they prefer to believe there's an easier less painful solution.
