Hello there, does anybody have an invoice template? I've just moved to the UK, I must register as self employed and submit my first invoice at the end of the month but have no idea what an invoice looks like. THANKS!

As far as I'm aware you don't have to submit an invoice to become self employed.

huuuh?

An invoice is something you send an employer. It's essentiall a piece of paper that says I am X I did Y I wanna get paid Z here are my bank account details.

it's a formality really...

Maybe you're thinking of a P60?

is it really that simple? I thought it would have to be numbered, stamped or something like that. Can I just write it on a piece of paper?

I haven't registered as self employed that, I hear it takes a long time.

Hello

If you type in invoice template into Google you'll get a huge number which will give you some ideas.

You could write an invoice in lipstick on a napkin if you liked.

It just doesn't look professional

I think there is still some confusion here. Have you actually done some work for someone else and now you are coming to UK and you are now declaring this income?

Another option if you dont have MS Word is Open Office which is free http://templates.services.openoffice.org/

maxh thanks for the suggestion, it sounds like a great idea.

thank you everybody, the thing is the job is just for 2 months, but I still have to register as self employed in order to declare my income. I wonder how long it'll take.
