Hi everyone.
I have just moved my telemarketing business from the UK to Canada and need to make a high volume of calls up to 150 per day to the UK. Most of these calls probably only last 10 seconds , for example reaching a voicemail.
Even though I only pay 2.5p a minute with Bell Canada, i get charged a 2.5p conection fee. Does anyone know of any fixed cost global dialling packages or a less expensive company, which still has good quality.
regards
Jonathan

Hi,
Have you considered using 7-11 phone cards? I use them in my business for international calls, and for 4 1/2 cpm, with no connection fee, it might be a better way to go.
Canada is also getting into VoIp, check out Vonage online.
I am way out here on the prairies, so connecting is all part of the show every day.
Hope this helps,
Donna

Hi there,
I can recommend a fantastic business telecomms company who are brilliant at cutting down your phone costs.
I can ask them to give you a call and they can do you a quote. They will need your last bill or two and will work out the best system for you and tell you how much you would have paid with them. Doesn't hurt to have a quote whatever you eventually decide.
The company name is GlemNet and I hope you don't mind my passing on your details. As you put your numbers etc up on the forum I'm assuming you do want companies to contact you about this.
Anyone else ever want a quote to compare against existing cost of phones/internet/ISDN etc just let me know.

(They are a client of mine, so I am not entirely unbiased, but honestly they really do save businesses a lot of money. They have been doing this for over 15 years and they specialise in business only, no domestic. I'm stuck on a contract at the moment but as soon as that finishes I'm switching over to them and my boyfriend is about to get them to quote for his business. The other good point is that they are nice guys too and don't have some huge anonymous call centre dealing with their customers, if you have any queries you get right through to them. Anyway, ad over, I do recommend them all round as they genuinely are good and have access to many different types of telecomms systems to suit, including Voice over Internet Protocol but set up for business needs rather than converting a domestic application like Skype...)

Thanks everyone.
I googled VOIP companies and found 1.25p per minute with no connection charge but I pay £10 per month with a UK number provided.
