Why not take the whole package to a new firm?

If the income is only from the company then your own accountant shouldnt be charging more than £20+VAT/ £50+VAT or £100+VAT (luxury accountants).

I believe that you should think very carefully before splitting your Tax Returns between two different accountants. If you are running your own business then there is a distinct interaction between the tax paid by yourself and the company. Tax planning for the company may end up increasing your personal tax liability and you need a professional who will look at the whole picture and provide advice based on this.

If you are happy with the service your accountant provides to the company then it may be best to have a chat with them about the charges for your personal return to see why the charges are increasing and if there is anything that can be done about them.

why not have a go at doing it yourself.

It would be a bit unusual to have two accountants involved.

If your current one is charging a lot for the SA are they also charging a lot for the co accounts?
